Just a thought...

The question has been asked if man is inherently good or bad... I would like to think we, humankind, are inherently good but a couple things make me wonder... Example...why is it, when someone or something happens that we don't agree with, why is our first reaction is one of anger? After the initial shock has worn off, we rethink the anger and talk ourselves into thinking more positively but why wasn't the positive thoughts our initial reaction?
Why is it when there's an accident along the highway, why do we feel the need to see the scene? Are we drawn to pain and hurt or are we fascinated with death? Maybe..okay, you're going to have to really wrap your mind around this one, but maybe there's something inside of us that remembers "life" before birth. Okay, I won't go into that at this time but back to the original question..why do we feel the need to look at the accident along the highway?
Why is it that when a person has proven themselves to be great in their "occupation" and we, the fans, quickly place them on this pedestal, but as soon as they do just one thing that threatens their fall, we jump at the opportunity to see them fall, even help pull them down? Need a couple examples? .... Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, even Bill Clinton. Ok, well, maybe a couple of those did more than "just one thing" but do you get my point?
In the end, I would like to think that we are basically good beings, maybe a little confused sometimes but I guess it's comforting to know that usually, even if it's second nature, we most often settle on the positive...usually.

Your thought process is similar to confuscious beliefs. :)
